Stay Informed

The Seattle City Council voted unanimously in August to support a Resolution banning gas-powered leaf blowers, starting with City department use by 2025. The Mayor's executive team is now tasked with drafting an ordinance, shifting the City and other operators towards more selective usage and electric blowers where still needed. But, currently, the City's budget for 2023 doesn't include anything for this, meaning nothing will happen.

CM Pedersen's staff is working on an amendment to the budget, specifying details on how much to allocate, what it must be spent on, and incentives and restrictions to ensure that action will be taken. When it is ready and distributed to the Council, your letter writing efforts will be most effective. Of course, you're welcome to write or call now as well ! But first, join our organization and stay informed.
